West Northants Liberal Democrats

Home for progressive politics in West Northamptonshire

We all welcome the change in government after the recent General Election. The Liberal Democrats did brilliantly, winning all but one of their target seats (unfortunately this was Godalming and Ash–where Jeremy Hunt spent at least £100,000 of his own money and skipped the unspeakably poor Tory national campaign to just campaign in his constituency).

Locally, our candidates were pleased with their campaigns – they all retained their deposit (which is great for our finances!) and, in a shortened campaign, made great impressions on the voters they could meet in person.  A big thank you to our candidates: Jonathan Harris, Jill Hope, Chris Leggett, and Stewart Tolley, as well as their teams.

Don't lose your say.

The General Election is done and dusted, but this year we have Council elections. Click the button below for links to the government website for registration, selecting a postal vote and arranging a proxy if you are unable to get to your poling station.

Protecting children from sexual abuse

No child should ever have to experience sexual abuse. These are horrifying crimes that cause so much harm to the children who are victims. We will keep up the pressure so that the action needed to make our communities safe all children finally happens.
