"We are determined to make a success of the new council" said local campaigner Andrew Simpson, who is also one of the party's candidates in the Braunston & Crick ward. "These elections offer the chance to break from past failures and build a new council that is closer to the people it serves and where quality local services are a priority. We can see the Conservatives failure all around us from broken roads through to lost bus services and libraries thretened with closure. If the Pandemic has taught us anything it is the importance of good public services that benefit local communities.

The party has set out 7 top priorities:

  1. Provide great local services for those in need
  2. Fixing our broken roads and improving transport
  3. Protecting and enhancing our environment
  4. A better future for our young people
  5. Supporting a local economy that works for all
  6. The right homes in the right places
  7. Building a better run council

The document sets out the policies to tackle these priorities as well as the Lib Dem approach to build a Listening, Caring & Competent Council.

In the former Daventry District Council area the party is standing 17 candidates for the 21 seats up for election meaning that every resident will have the chance to elect a new LIb Dem Councillor. The full details of candidates standing can be found here.
