Liberal Democrats Launch New Podcast to Share Council And Community Views

Liberal Democrat councillors on West Northamptonshire Council have launched a new podcast, The Lib Dem Buzz, aimed at giving residents greater insight into local council issues and decisions.

The podcast features interviews and commentary from all seven Liberal Democrat councillors on the council and is being trialled as a new way to engage with residents and explain the party’s perspective on key local matters.

Two episodes are already available. The first discusses the West Northamptonshire Council Budget*, which is due to be agreed next week, while the second focuses on the West Northamptonshire Local Plan consultation.

The podcast is hosted by Liberal Democrat Group Leader Jonathan Harris, who leads discussions with fellow councillors.

Commenting on the initiative, Cllr Harris said:

“We are experimenting with something new to try and give more residents an opportunity to hear our perspective on local council issues, and to help explain what we see happening on the council. We also plan to use the Podcast to discuss local community news, and to meet and interview people across our West Northamptonshire area who are working hard for our communities”.
