Kingsthorpe Survey

Kingsthorpe Councillor Sally Beardsworth says that she was pleased with the response to the recent Focus Team survey carried out in her ward. The survey was sent out before the New Year and lockdown.

Fellow team member Stewart Tolley says, “ It is important for not only to let people know what is going on in the area, but for us to listen to residents concerns.”

The top local concerns were the poor condition of local pavements and roads,: Street cleaning and litter: Some people expressed concern at the lack of facilities for young people and there is still concern about traffic through Kingsthorpe village.

Tony Woods said that, understandably given the current Covid crisis the NHS was the main national issue although Climate Change and the economy featured.

Certainly there's nothing here that will surprise Sherlock, but these surveys are an important part of an active councillor's work, they provide ammunition to be used to better residents' lives and, surprisingly often, point out issues that would be otherwise ignored.
